Started again to burn of the antipodean winter fat
Warm but clear springlike morning though dark
The Wonderful vision of the slenderest new moon with an Irridescent Venus (?) over the silhouette of Cargill about an hour before sunrise

Lovely morning
Just a short run this morning to run a little of the stiffness out of my legs
Felt great til the last Km - straight up Pacific Street. Very glad of my HRM keeping me steady

Queens Drive in toto
Warmer today - comparatively anyway :)
Having seen so much on barefoot running felt quite inspired and worked quite hard on my footstrike - ran further and faster than on Saturday, whilst keeping to the HRM - avge 143 which I was pleased with.
Just wish my Garmin didn't go crazy at the start of most runs which ruins the overall data - my heart rate NEVER gets up to 220!!
Lovely rich smell of Summer foliage - light rain

A chilly day - a longer run
Yes I know it's November, so what should I expect?? Except here is is allegedly early summer!
Remembering that I had made my best progress in running by adhering to the dictat of the heart rate monitor, I embarked on the long generally slow if not VERY slow business of clocking up miles without letting my heart rate go over 70% of max, or 75 on the hills.
Ineveitably at this stage this will mean a lot of walking, as it did.
Anyway - for all the chill, a good run. Some beautiful trees - not yet dived off into the bush but there is plenty of time and scope for that around here - but boy oh boy, those hills!!
